Heritage Gala
Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the United States and has its own rich history in regards to the LGBT movement. Commemorating our history has been part of Pride Houston’s ongoing mission and so the organization decided to produce a black tie gala that would give back… locally.
The Heritage Gala is dedicated solely to funding an endowment to create a future Houston LGBT Museum. The initial goal for the Houston LGBT Museum initiative is to raise as much funds as possible to create a stable foundation. Once an unidentified amount has been achieved Pride Houston will work to create a committee comprised of those dedicated to preserving historical artifacts to act as an advisory council as they begin discussions on the details of the design and logistics of the Houston LGBT Museum.
2014 was the inaugural Heritage Gala was Chaired by Cristina Martinez and Ryan Rushing and raised $13,000.
