Primary responsibilities include the coordination of Pride Houston™s Pride Festival and/or Parade. Coordination takes place in the form of application processing, selling new booths, entry/vendor relations, basic administration, logistics, etc. You will also have the unique opportunity to work with our highly energetic creative team and contribute to the success of this LGBT non-profit organization by helping to build a dynamic Festival.
Time Commitment(s):
- Attending a monthly meeting (additional meetings as Pride gets closer)
- 2-4 hours of work a week leading into April.
- 4-10 hours of work a week leading into May.
- Should be available to assist on the night BEFORE Pride Day.
- Should be available to assist on the day of Pride Day.
Requirements:
- Experience in event coordination is a plus.
- Experience in sales is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office – PowerPoint, Word, Excel
- Ability to balance multiple priorities with acute attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
- Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
Work is performed under broad direction of the Festival Chair and/or the Celebration Director with the majority of work performed independently.
